with its gothic windows and cross topped spire...
The Holy Trinity Church is just a few steps away from Katy's Smokehouse.

We had our smoked fish and scallops with us and were looking for a place to sit down to enjoy our lunch. There were benches near this memorial

featuring this lovely view of Trinidad Bay...

The real lighthouse was a few miles away; this was just a replica lighthouse which served as a memorial to pay respects for those lost at sea.

We met a family from Orange County and took family pictures of them and vice versa.
Below, Trinidad Head.

TC saw that a trail led down to the beach. On our way down, a family going up said it would get kind of "wet" down there. The trail was mostly dirt until the end where there was a flight of old wooden steps, some of which were missing and yes, some near mud and puddles.

I couldn't stop marveling at the view...

The beach down below had an even more fantastic view of the bay along with craggy rocks in thee middle of the bay.

The beach was called Old Home Beach (just looked it up on google maps) , also known as Indian Beach. It was probably renamed to be politically correct.

War memorial bell overlooking the bay plus memorial wall of loved ones who died at sea.

Last look...

Before we left, we went to the research pier down the hill so we could use the bathroom, which was surprisingly clean and modern.

As picturesque as it was here, we needed to continue our trip. We still had another attraction up north we wanted to see...
