TC thought their mascot was amusing...
I will never complain about the roads in San Diego again! The freeways in Montreal are atrocious! Worse traffic than LA (during rush hour), millions of pot holes, etc...
Luckily, our drive to get to downtown Montreal didn't take long and before we knew it, we were there scoping for parking...
The "paifang" or gate to Chinatown on Saint Laurent Boulevard.

This street was being set up for the upcoming Montreal Jazz Festival...

This poster advertising the event was nearby...

We parked on the outskirts at some lot which cost about $15 to park there for up to half the day. Now see this building? Look at the top window that's open...

This caught our eye. It was a Michael Jackson mannequin recreating the scene were the Gloved One dangled his own child through an open window! Remember that crazy incident? Child endangerment anyone?

You can see more great photos of this building at this link which is from the site "Montreal in Pictures". This building is a boutique called Eva B, a two story secondhand clothing store which also has a small cafe. After seeing this person's post, I kind of regret that we didn't walk into this place!
Some street art...

I liked the eclectic mix of buildings here. There were many that were "charcuteries" like the one below, the Charcuterie Fairmount, but we were only interested in ONE in particuar.

More street art/graffiti...

It was starting to feel super hot. Even though it was the late morning, the sun was already beating down mercilessly. That, coupled with the humidity made it feel about 90 degrees.
We were getting closer to our lunch destination, one that we simply count not IGNORE. In fact, C insisted that we HAD to come here. Of course, we couldn't disagree with her and within a few minutes, we were there...That post coming up soon!
