(Fake) Leather and lace and metal

Bang your heads dudes...

There are many things I associate with the phrase "Heavy Metal" such as the 1981 animated movie (logo seen above), Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild" which makes a reference to "heavy metal thunder", and of course, one of my preferred genres of music...

This was a recent outfit I wore before having brunch with friends. I wanted to mix up the textures. Lace, pleather, studs, and chains.

Without my jacket...wearing a pinstriped vest over a short sleeves sweater with a lace sleeves and illusion top (has "nude" colored lining). Channeling my inner Slash with the vest. Too bad it's not leather.

And with the jacket, which is about three years old. Got it from Target. Fake leather so no animals died for this. But they did die for my boots.

There are five zipper pulls (two on the front, two on the cuffs and the one in the middle). It zips asymetrically as well.

The lace shirt was bought on clearance from Ann Taylor Loft about a year and a half ago ($12). The lace had a flesh colored panel on the front. The rest of the shirt is sweater knit. It's a bit boxy so I tucked it in. The better to see my belt, haha. Jeans are my standbt faves, the Roxanne by 7.

The pinstriped vest is from H & M (1 year old, bought on clearance for $10).

The heavy metal in this case is all because of the hardware...assorted rings from H & M (1 year old, $5 for 3; only two shown), arrow point earrings from Nordstrom Brass Plum (bought last summer, forgot how much), and a braided chain bracelet from Ann Taylor (bought 3 years ago on clearance for $15).

The bracelet is really weighty and has a heavy duty magnetic clasp. Below, the earrings as they hang on the studded strap of my new boots (the "Essence" boot from Jessica Simpson, bought on mega sale on Amazon).

My black pyramid studded belt from Target (five years old; I think it was $12). Please ignore the fact that this POV makes me look like a sausage.

Don't forget to wear your horny green clothes tomorrow for St. Patrick's Day!

I remember that outfit, and I loved it. Those boots are badass my dear! My pyramid studded belt is from Hot Topic and I need a new one badly (mine is over 10 years old). I always wear my studded belt with my Union Jack flag...it's because I want to be British, lol.

Hi Sigh - your combo of houndstooth cape and b/w striped shirt was quite cool indeed.
