Use Your Illusion

If you stare at this long enough, it will give you a headache!

At least is does, for me...

I'm a big fan of black and white clothing and when I saw this print a little over a year ago, I took a risk...

Worn recently during our dinner at The Pearl...

Outfit deets:
Mustard top with drapey detail (bought on clearance from Anthropologie last year), black and white optic pencil skirt (by My Beloved from Modcloth, forgot how much but it was more than $20 but less than $40); red eelskin heels by Moda Spana. The black ruffled sweater with 3/4 length sleeves is from Banana Republic (bought half off on clearance two years ago with a $10 coupon and my $15 birthday coupon so it ended up being .75!!!! Damn right! Cents!).

Although you can't see it, the skirt is gathered in the back and features an exposed zipper with the black fabric tape.  I like the look of the black and white graphic lines. They really make the skirt stand out.

My cocktail  (the "Warhol") with the absinthe in it...

Blingy gunmetal feather bracelet ($10 from Ms. Clothing, a cheapo accessories store at the mall).

Handmade Day of the Dead skull earrings - from Two Dollar Thrill, a thrift store on Newport Ave in O.B. that sells everything for...you guessed it!

TWO DOLLARS!!!!

That's something the notorious paperboy from "Better Off Dead" would say!

I used to have the biggest crush on John Cusack in the 80's. Loved him in "Say Anything" as Lloyd Dobler (I play to cros-play his outfit for Halloween this year). He was one of Farmer Ted's geek friends in "Sixteen Candles", was the big brother in "Stand by Me" (the one that died), and was the high school reunion bound hitman in "Grosse Point Blank".

*title taken from G 'n R's twin albums, "Use Your Illusion I" and "Use Your Illusion II" (1991). I remember buying these records at the now defunct Blue Meannie record store; the albums were COLORED VINYL !!! A quick look on ebay shows that the regular LP is going for about $30 for each or $60+ for the whole set! Much better than the $15 I paid for each record back then!
