Get on your boots...

Even though I don't listen to her music and generally think of her as an annoying airhead celebrity (remember her reality show with her ex Nick Lachey?)...

I have to say that I like some of the styles of Jessica Simpson's shoe collection, notably the boots...

One of my co-workers (two actually) have this same pair of boots, the "Essence" in a winter gray and tannish brown. They bought it on sale during winter break at Macy's. I happened to see it on mega-sale on amazon for $57.94 in my size and in black! Now they are back up to $115. Yikes.

Although they are advertised as knee high boots, they are NOT knee high, unless you are under 5' tall and have very short legs. I already knew that since I saw how they looked on my colleagues.

Of course, the studded strap is the main detail that I absolutely loved. Very simple. Not over the top.

I was afraid that they might not fit since my calves are for lack of a better word, "muscular". I hate how that sounds but yeah, they are. Because of this, it limits what types of boots I can wear. On my thinner legged colleagues and friends, they are practically swimming in their boots! Damn them. Just kidding. Not really.

A shot of the our boots. TC wanted to make sure the dandelion was in view. She is wearing her favorite pair of shoes which are strappy combat boots.

Me and my co-worker during our lunch break. The color and leather for her boots feature a purposely "weathered" toe. Mine was shiny all around with no weathered toe.

TC wearing my boots. Well, it's knee high on her since she is shorter than me.

I wore these recently and will feature the outfit posts at a later date. My favorite pair is still my bitch kicking all weather Timberlands (as seen in my "Foot to Ass Boots" post from last year). I tend to like the more butch looking boot styles.

On another note,  watched part of "Top Secret" a few nights ago. This is one of my favorite scenes featuring Peter ("The Grand Moff Tarkin" from Star Wars) Cushing, of Hammer Horror fame:

The scene was actually filmed BACKWARDS! Here is the same scene but in the proper unreversed order with the subtitled dialogue:

Ha ha! I love that his EYE is that BIG when he removed the magnifying glass!!! So many sight gags!

Oh Val Kilmer, what happened to you? You were so awesome as Nick Rivers in this movie, as well as Jim Morrison in "The Doors" and The Iceman in "Top Gun"!

*Here's the U2 song that inspired the title:

On the other hand, I could have also used Iron Maiden's "Die With Your Boots On"!

Enjoy the nice weather while you can! Spring is in the air!
