"Bitch, you come into my house! You eat my food the fuckin' way I make it!" (quote from Season 1)
But this is the Lafayette I'm referring to....a grand looking hotel on El Cajon Bld, just a few steps away from Eclipse Chocolate, Pizzeria Luigi and the Live Wire bar.

It looks so swanky. I felt like I should have worn a Bettie Page dress, a dramatic pompadour hairsytyle, and screaming fire engine red lipstick!
Let's take a peek inside...
I was telling KDB how I always pass by this place everytime we go to Eclipse so he suggested actually going inside. Now that's a novel idea. It was on the way back to the car so...
Our curiosity got the better of us as we walked in for a brief respite from the muggy and humid weather.

Candy colored parasols hung upside down over a garden-like lobby. It reminded me of a plant conservatory.
Below is the view as you look out towards El Cajon Blvd. The wall on the right was a collage of photos from the hotel's heydey, back when it was known as the Imig Manor (named after the developer) and when El Cajon Blvd. used to be known as a major thoroughfare (prior to the I-8 being built). Famous people like Bob Hope and Ava Gardner used to stay in this hotel during those years.

More of those parasols...

Just past the plants and benches was an enclosed courtyard surrounding the pool. Very very nice and swanky.

It didn't seem that crowded that day we popped in. This seems like it could be a cool "staycation" spot.
We weren't there too long. Just quick enough to get a look-see and to snap a few shots before raising the ire and suspicious of the hotel employees.

So long Lafayette Hotel!
