Ice cream at the Magnetawan Gas Bar and Store

Did I mention that we did A LOT of driving during our Canada trip?

It was cool seeing the signs that identified the different First Nation tribes...


After a few more hours of driving, it was time for another break...

The Magnetawan First Nations tribe had their own little gas station and convenience store. It was super super hot that day. The store was near a small strip of houses where one family was grilling their food outside on their patio. A few folks from the party meandered over to the store to pick up a few beers.

TC wanted ice cream, specifically one kind that she had two years ago during our previous Canada trip.

We did not see the one she wanted in the ice cream bar freezer so she chose the Life Savers popsicle instead. Bert picked the Rolo and I abstained from ice cream. Bert asked the woman working there if they had any "Itzakadoozie's" left.  She said that they had more in the backroom's freezer and went to search for it. We kind of felt bad because it took several minutes of waiting for her to open up some boxes to search for it but yes, she found it! TC was able to trade in the Life Savers for the Itzakadoozie.

They don't sell this ice cream bar in the U.S.

Here are the ice cream bars unwrapped. Of course, TC was attracted to this one - fruity flavors and whimsical spiral shape on the cylindrical bar. Bert's Rolo melted fast so he had to eat it fast.

Like TC's cargo shorts? They are from the boy's section at Target.  She liked the pockets.
