Ronnie James Dio?
NO!
I'm talkin' 'bout the HORNS!!!
Even though we did not attend Comic Con this year, our good friend, Superman was able to bring home a few items at my request:

Behold!
The newly released "24 Hr. Comic 2" by Paul Horn and "The Girl with the Donut Tattoo" by Darlene Horn (illustrated by Paul Horn). The smashed cookie that resembled a donut was by Jennywenny of Jennywenny Cakes.
I was actually surprised that Supe SAVED the cookie for me. When he texted me that he got a "free" cookie with purchase, I figured he would have the cookie! Anyhow, smashed or not, the cookie was enjoyed by myself and TC...
More info on the making of "24 Hr. Comic 2" here on Paul's site! I found his creative and technical process to be quite fascinating and was quite impressed that Paul completed this book so quickly! Plus, I loved the story and the musical and cultural references. I could totally relate to that and feel that I'm not alone in being completely obsessive about my favorite bands (i.e. knowing when songs and videos came out and associating them with certain events, etc).
Darlene's book was also quite cool and I'm glad that I got a copy before it sold out. Don't worry, a second printing is on it's way. The stories in her book are memorable, funny and sweet. Recipes are also included in the comic. I really liked how the illustrations made her writing "come to life", especially since some of the pages are adapted from previous blog posts that I remember reading. One of my favorite things about this is the author and illustrator's "dueling commentary" at the end (fans of Cool Jerk will know what I'm referring to) which also compels the reader to go back and re-read the pages. I love it!
More info on "The Girl with the Donut Tattoo" on Darlene's site (includes an awesome video interview and the SD Union Tribune article). Well worth $5!!!
You must also check Darlene's Comic-Con 2012 wrap up post and see the man himself, Anthony Bourdain holding a copy of her book!!!
Order TGWTDT at the Cool Jerk shop.
I certainly hope for more of these collabs in the future!

Aw.. thanks for the nice write up. Too bad you weren't able to attend yourself. I hope you can make it next year! (P.S. the photo of the cookie made me laugh -- totally pulverized!)
We loved your books! :)
I'm so over the Con. I love the sights but not the overwhelming crowds.
I was astonished the cookie was actually saved for me!
