And while we parked at the Mexican restaurant behind the Dutch Bros., we saw this rather gross sight...Not really a highlight, but something I definitely won't forget. Those huge birds had shredded plastic bags from the dumpster and were foraging for food...
Only in Northern California can you see elk on the side of a freeway...
and logging trucks are commonplace...
There were also many reminders that we were in "Bigfoot Country" as well...
While driving down the 101, we would hit certain pockets where it was clear while some parts were foggy. This was like the Arena in the Hunger Games where the Gamemakers can control the climates. The fog here reminded us of a scene in the movie where a dense fog creepily but rapidly envelops the characters...
It was a six hour drive from Crescent City to San Francisco, so we made sure to stop every couple of hours to stretch our legs. The town of Fortuna had this cool little health food store where we had a snack. We chose the place randomly. What I liked about the place was the framed pop culture photos referencing Marvel, and DC characters, as well as Star Wars.
At the four hour mark, we were in what was probably the most hipster coffee shop in Ukiah (102F yo!)...Hey, A/C man.

Our destination for the next couple of days was good ole SF.
Not to the main part of the city, but down down down past Golden Gate Park, near their OB, south of the Sunset District. It's one of our favorite non-touristy places to visit and stay...
Like our previous visit last year, we met up with my cousin I(who lives nearby) and her other daughter (she has two; this was the middle one) for dinner in the Inner Sunset...
at a place with side by side restaurants. One eatery had a line out the door while the other did not. Guess which one we went to, eh. We were fortunate to snag the very last table as well...
The important thing was, both places had their famous chicken wings! OMG, these wings...
I'm so glad my cousin chose this place while my neice chose the dessert place below...
It was kind of like a Baked Bear and Cream but with square sandwiches (AND pies) instead...
It was such a long day and for tomorrow, our wedding anniversary would be filled with lots of activities, places to see, and eateries to snack at...you get the picture.
