Last few road stops + Tustin's THH & Cream Pan + Spring Break Road Trip 2017 post round up

I drove my leg of the trip...

and we stopped at Kettleman City,

it was time to call it a night but first...

and soon set out again to do a little exploring before having dinner...

This was Day 6 and we were en route from San Francisco to the state capitol...

We were almost there...

passing through Sonoma County, which we would end up visiting for our Spring 2016 Road Trip, but I digress...

Two hours had elapsed while on the road and it was time to make a pitstop here in Fortuna.

Heading down to SF from Crescent City...

Breakfast was just fruit plus the coffee we got at Dutch Bros in Crescent City. I really wanted us to have breakfast at the Historic Hiouchi Cafe a bit northeast of Crescent City, but it would have taken long to drive up, have breakfast and then double back down. We had a lot of ground to cover which is why we left super early.

San Francisco was our next city on the agenda coming down from Crescent City..

On our way down, we saw some interesting sights plus places we'd been to recently, like the Tour Thru Tree in Klamath...

The third and last tourist trap drive through tree was a few miles north of Trinidad...

Up in Klamath, eh.

They called it the "Tour Thru Tree", named to avoid legal problems with the other "Drive Thru" trees. In any case, we were going to make it three for three...

I think we had about less than an hour left on our meter and thought we could kill some time checking out some shops around the corner.

It turns out that this area was part of San Rafael's historic downtown district...

Arizmendi Bakery, San Rafael

I was happy to find out when researching our lunch spot that Arizmendi Bakery was closeby.

I mean, VERY close by, as in two doors down from Mr. Pickle's.   Just down the street was one of the main drags in San Rafael that we would later explore briefly.

There was one thing I wanted for sure here and maybe a few other things to pick up...
