before leaving our outpost, we passed by this historic trestle bridge...
and made sure to walk on it. Sadly, the rivers we saw were quite low and dried out, a sign of California's drought.
When up in Redwood country, visit the famed trees...
and DRIVE THROUGH 'EM too!

and drive through even more trees!
and check out even more massive trees along the Avenue of the Giants...
Such as the Founder's Tree and the Dyerville Giant...
We were still heading up north and made sure to stop by this historic logging town...
and an idyllic town filled with well preserved Victorian homes...
and finally reaching our destination. After checking in to our hotel, we had dinner at a brewery founded by women (only one of two in Humboldt County)...
Samplers are the best!
