My birthday morning - Cream Pan in Tustin + Hopper & Burr coffee in DTSA + Mexican fruit cup from vendor

Bert's bro was kind enough to let us stay in his pad overnight. TC and her cousin were able to catch up while we were crashed out...

My birthday morning was started at one of my favorite bakeries...

St. Honore Boulangerie, downtown Portland

Freshly caffeinated from our visit to Deadstock Coffee, we three trekked along the Portland streets to get to the museum...

(Bert and TC above)

I even took a sip of water from this four-bowl Benson Bubbler...

The Bean Counter + L'Atelier

The original plan was to have coffee in North Park or Little Italy but that was waylaid...

While on the 5, the plan became trying a new'ish coffee place in Mission Hills...

which entailed going to the Hawthorn exit...

Mitch's Seafood

Down the street is the popular Point Loma Seafoods. We didn't want to park in their lot (I believe there are fees) which is why we parked near the Dolphin Motel...

Not that much farther away than Point Loma Seafoods is Mitch's...

Public Square Coffee House

After our quick stop at Papa's Donuts (yay for mini malasadas!), TC and I headed to downtown La Mesa...

to give a new coffee house recommended by Cathy a try...

Because I don't like using parking meters, we parked several blocks away on Finley (near Sprouts)...

Spring Break Road Trip Day 3: Acre Coffee, Petaluma

And we now change the channels back to our not forgotten Spring Break Road Trip...

We started of Day 3 in downtown Petaluma for some coffee with a view...

Sadly, the  historical museum across the street (which used to be a Carnegie Library) was closed during our visit and only opened the day after we left. Talk about bad timing.

Heartsleeves Coffee (formerly Mad Fix)

Sunny and warm in November?

We'll take it...it beats freezing our @$$es off eh!

Our morning was spent checking out the newest coffee place in Little Italy...

Churros el Tigre, San Ysidro

Since we were in the area, I headed down Dairy Mart Road and hung a left at Camino de la Plaza. I wasn't sure if it would lead me to the outlets down south. While on the way, TC and I could see the hills of Tijuana...

I hadn't ever driven this stretch of road before to get to the outlet but luckily it led me to the right place. I wanted us to try a snack at this kiosk...

Recent revisits to Holsem Coffee

I loved the coffee and atmosphere at Holsem so much that we later went back the next day, which was Mother's Day.

I wanted Bert to give this place a try...

Lazy Hummingbird

Let's pretend we took the DeLorean back in time and gave the old flux capacitor a run for its money....

Sandwiched between our visit to Hodad's and Beach Sweets was a short jaunt a few streets over to a coffee shop located in the Ocean Beach Business Center...

which shares space with  FedEx...

The Snowflake Factory

Curious we were about this place...

Seems like more and more of these shaved snow/snowflake/snow ice places are opening up all over the place...

Return to LAX-C + Snacks at A Taste of Thai

Since Mae Ting's was conveniently located in this same parking lot, we could not pass up an opportunity to explore LAX-C, which some folks call "The Thai Costco".

But first, a note about Chimney Brick Toast Coffee House (shown above)...they no longer make or sell their Thai tea cream puffs. Sad lemur face.  When I asked the guy at the counter he said that they weren't really popular so they stopped making them ago. Wandering Chopsticks had recommended this place for their brick toast (but I will save that dessert for another future visit) as well as that particular cream puff...

So with that fact in mind, Cathy and I kept our snacks in the car and headed into the warehouse...
