Julian Station, Don's Market, and Julian Pie Company

Ater our quartet of apple related treats at the Julian Pie Company, we wandered around town for a bit before heading out for our real lunch.

But first, we would check out a place I saw in a Julian visitor guide...

which used to be called the Julian Outpost, but is now called the Julian Station. It is located a few miles out of town in Wynola.



If you're into antiques, there's a few shops. They even have a Mexican fruiteria in here.



Other than using the bathroom facilities, we didn't really get anything here. Nothing caught our interest.

Off to Santa Ysabel...


We usually go to Don's Market on our way out of Julian to buy cider. Dudley's, the bakery next door was CLOSED, dagnabbit. We would have to buy it here. One stop shop.



We also bought a pie here at the Santa Ysabel location of the Julian Pie Company.

Love the door handle here.

It was fascinating what how apples were mechanicaly peeled, cored and chopped for the pies.







Now that's a lot of apples!

Almost everything sold in here has apples in it. You can probably imagine how good it smells in here.



Even the souvenirs were apple or baing related.

Bert picked up a few bottles of the Julian Hard Cider. Of the two, I liked the black and blue better than the raspberry. The flavor was a bit intense.


Our purchases from Don's, the hard cider, regular apple cider and Dudley's apple nut bread.

Of course, we picked up one pie. Just one, the Dutch apple crumb which is Bert and TC's favorite. I love the crumb topping.
