My macchiato (my new favorite espresso drink) was somewhere in El Cerrito, near Thane's place...
Our first stop was across the bay and at one of the windiest places EVER. While on the way there, we saw many bovine friends because there were several Bay Area creameries there...
Shrouded in mist and accessible only by descending 300+ steps...
All that walking made us tired so up the Bay we went to enjoy some freshly bbq'd oysters...
Any movie buffs out there recognize this place?
We couldn't pass up the opportunity...
Back near the where the 1 meets the ocean was this small town where we bought a few classic candies...
before heading over to local redwood forest about forty minutes away inland...
to enjoy this...

That afternoon we learned that the Supreme Court ruled in favor of gay marriage NATIONWIDE. This was indeed big news especially in this town which we learned was a popular gay vacation destination (and the epicenter of gay life near the Russian River) and with rainbow flags galore in anticipation of San Francisco's upcoming Pride Weekend...
While wine country may sound enticing to some, we chose to bypass the many wineries beckoning our way...
and instead settled in at a tiny coastal town to gear up for the next day as we travel up the coast.
