Due to Covid-19, this coffee bar is most likely operating quite differently than when I first visited in Spring 2019. Take heed.

D's bday crawl - G&B + Blue Bottle @ The Bradbury + the Last Bookstore

After our Breakfast Part 1,2 and 3 at the Trifecta in Tustin...

(4th Ave exit from the 101)

we headed into DTLA...

Blue Bottle @ The Bradbury

After Cream Pan, we made our way to DTLA...

with, thankfully, minimum traffic.  We were able to get a spot at an outdoor lot (same as the one we did before) and walk the blocks over to this storied building...

The Bradbury (of "Blade Runner" fame) which now houses LA's newest location of Blue Bottle...

"Eruptions" at the Broad + free pastry from Corner Bakery

Before heading over to Lunch Part 2, we wanted to walk by the Broad Museum, pronounced "Brode", which rhymes with "Toad", not "Braaaahd".

You may have seen this building before in a recent car commercial...

Salads from Lemonade at the MoCA, LA

We had a few places in mind for lunch but out of sheer convenience...

went to the Lemonade at the MoCA...

The eatery itself is pretty small...

The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MoCA Grand)

TC's choice of venue for the day was the MoCA LA (Museum of Contemporary Art)....

To the left of the MoCA is the Broad, which has long ass lines to get in. Tickets are hard to come by (you have to obtain them a month in advance and only if the dates aren't blocked off) and rather than wait hours (literally) to get in, opted ahead of time to check out the MoCA...

Caffeine galore at G & B Coffee, Grand Central Market + Angel's Flight

Located at the lower floors of the Homer McLaughlin building...

also known as Los Angeles' first steel-reinforced and fireproof building is the nearly one century old grand Central Market, our first destination of the day...

Return to DTLA

Although we've never been to this shopping outlet, The Citadel, it never fails to amaze me how oddly anachronistic in looks and placement this is...

It looks like something out of ancient Assyria instead of being right next to the 5 freeway in LA.

Traffic was pretty light that whole morning (thank you holiday weekend) but as we approached downtown, the traffic got a little more congested...

Gelateria Uli @ The Spring Arcade Building

We saw this historic building while on the way to Cole's and made a mental note to come here on the way back...

Under the beautiful and ornate archway were a series of shops, one of which served gelato...

Not too far from The Last Bookstore and diagonally across the street from hipster bakery, Semi Sweet is this beacon for the food curious...

Well I guess if you're a vegetarian, it would be easy, but we weren't, so in we went...

The $5 lot we parked in had many advantages...

One, it was cheap and two, it was close by to many places we wanted to check out in DTLA...

The Bradbury Building + the Million Dollar Theatre

Just down the block from Grand Central Market are two iconic buildings in DTLA...

The first was this Romanesque building which was a  popular during the late 1800's...

The Bradbury Building is one of the most photographed buildings in LA and has been featured in many films...

DTLA + Angels Flight & Angel's Knoll

I'm going waaaay back to early January of this year...

when we did a mini weekend roadtrip to LA...

to see the sights...
