They really weren't kidding about that! We made sure to each take our pills before hitting the road again...
We left our cozy motel and headed up to towns we've only seen on the maps but have never visited until now...
Here, at this quiet coastal community, we enjoyed our morning coffees and their famous sticky bun...
Further up we saw a farmer's market on the side of the highway so we stopped...I bought a couple of pairs of dangly earrings made from abalone shells along with fresh produce for our salads (yes, healthy snacks), while TC took a fancy to a handmade beaded ring set with Swarovski crystals and an agate stone.
One of our destinations today was this lighthouse...the tallest in California and the only one you can climb. Google it.
While we plan to see the majestic and insanely tall redwoods later this week, we saw the "opposite" of the redwoods at this particular forest located in Van Damme State Park...
Making our way up the coast again, we enjoyed a few treats at two establishments that are next to each other in Mendocino (the coffee place was a recommendation from an artist I met at the farmer's market earlier that day).
Before calling it a day, we went to this famous beach that doesn't have any sand but instead, tumbled glass rocks of all shapes, sizes and colors...
Dinner was enjoyed at this lovely Italian place in the historic downtown area...
The two musicians were amazing and I especially loved seeing a woman play jazz with an upright bass! We were enjoying our vacation so far!
