we did the short walk over from Tribute Pizza over to North Park's latest darling...

When I first snapped this shot on the PCH near Little Italy, I was trying to get the primate mural...

I didn't realize there was an incoming plane headings towards Lindbergh field!

That was pretty close, as the plane flew overhead....

The morning was still young. We were planning to take our Christmas photos on a particular painted flight of steps in a different neighborhood. For now, we were still in Los Feliz, having had some really great pastries from Twenty40...

A few minutes away was one of the most filmed high schools ever...

The changing of the Pez - November 2016

October has come and gone...

So long to these characters!

It was time to take these down and choose the next batch for November...

(unceremoniously dumped on my kitchen table)

And yes those are pasta storage containers and old Belgian chocolate tins that I use for my Pez...

The last time Bert and I were at the Presidio was for a wedding more than twenty years ago.

This time, we were back, in a different part of the Presido to see yet another permutation of a certain 900 year old Jedi Master...

Admission is free and so is parking, so if you're an original Star Wars trilogy freaks like we are...

The houses from "Shadow of a Doubt" and "Scream", Santa Rosa

We had a light breakfast at our hotel before heading out to Santa Rosa...

Bert had some coffee and we all had mini crepes with jam and sugar (they didn't have Nutella, drat)...

There was a lady making crepes in a parlor area; they were there for the taking. She would make a batch or stack and make more as it ran low.

We had a long day ahead of us and our first stop was just a few minutes north from Petaluma...

From our lunch and coffee break in San Rafael, we made the short trek to nearby San Anselmo...

another small town in Marin County, which is also home to a particular park...

that we COULD NOT PASS UP!

Passing through Scotia and Ferndale

After enjoying the beauty and majesty of the redwood forests in the Avenue of the Giants...

we made plans to drive through the small town of Scotia...

known as a "company" town built to house families who work(ed) at the local lumber mills...

As we drove by this palatial home, I wondered why it looked familiar...

Then I realized it was the Rose Parade Tournament House (also known as the Wrigley mansion, as in Wrigley gum folks).
