I know it's been a while since I blogged but we were in the midst of a remodel.

Summer Road Trip 2018 Day 1 - Santa Monica Pier

We hadn't been to Santa Monica in a couple of years...

TC was happy to see "action" because for our last visit, it was waaaay early in the morning, however...

It was a short drive back to the bluffs area,

where we crossed the tracks...

There were these cool and curved wave shaped walls...

which provided shade for these benches at the bus stop on the PCH...

Yesterday, with the lovely overcast sky and the benefit of being super early (8 am) at Communal...

Goleta Pier and Goleta State Beach

A few minutes away from the serene campus of UCSB is the Goleta Pier...

We hung a right and parked to admire the beach...

The pier was in the distance and we decided to repark...

We were up bright and early this particular morning...

taking a morning stroll by the waterfront which was walking distance from our inn...

Summer Road Trip 2016 - Tustin + Santa Monica

Finally,  back to the summer road trip posts...

when we left in the dead of the morning to beat the traffic and make it on time for THH's opening...

after our normal pee stop at the Starbucks off the Red Hill exit in Tustin...

We were not in a particular hurry...

Ventura Pier, mermen ornaments, buildings and more

Our way down to Ventura was quite nice. No traffic and decent weather all around.

There were some foggy patches though...

but we made it to Ventura intact...

San Clemente - The pier and Beach Ice Cream

Before heading home, we stopped by the seaside town of San Clemente...

which TC reminded me was the home of skater Ryan Sheckler (he played a hockey player in the abominable movie "The Tooth Fairy" which also starred The Rock; why did I even waste my time watching that....ha ha)...

Plus, they do have a really pretty pier...
