Our Julian visit was during Veteran's Day. Along with us was TC's friend who is a boy...

Julian Station, Don's Market, and Julian Pie Company

Ater our quartet of apple related treats at the Julian Pie Company, we wandered around town for a bit before heading out for our real lunch.

But first, we would check out a place I saw in a Julian visitor guide...

We had a few bites of the pastries earlier but made sure to save room for this place...

It would be our "one stop shop" for all things Julian related...

Return to the Candied Apple Pastry Company

While en route to my next destination, I noticed this...

The townspeople were decorated the business store fronts with artificial evergreen wreaths. Around the corner from the Julian Town Hall were dozens of these trash bags, each labeled carefully with the different buildings.

I thought it was pretty neat how organized this was. It was only Veteran's Day but the town of Julian was already getting ready for the holiday season.

I figure I should tie up loose ends before I end up forgetting about it. After starting off our day trying some Ass Kickin' Beef Jerky at Pam's Place, we found a parking spot a few blocks up a hill on Main. There was a breakfast place we were curious about...

Julian Highlights

Yesterday I had the day off for Veterans Day, which meant I had to work on Monday, take the day off on the 11th, then return to work on Wednesday.  It was a bit lame that we couldn't just get a three day weekend, but hey, I'm just glad I got the day off...

TC wanted to go to Julian again, and it seems that this is now our "tradition" during Veterans day...Here are just a few highlights of our trip...

We couldn't leave Julian without having some of their cider...

We'd been here a couple of years ago and made a quick stop before heading out for lunch...

The Julian Pioneer Museum, Town Hall, and the Candy Basket

After picking up our  pastries (aka )food souvenirs from the Candied Apple Pastry Company, we walked across the street to check out the Julian Pioneer Museum...

since we didn't see it two years ago. I figured, we're in Julian, so let's learn about Julian, right?

Last time we went to Julian, we got our pie from this place...

because they had a little take out window and the line wasn't too long....

Not this time. We had other plans. It was already past noon and we wanted to get out of here and have lunch elsewhere...

After our apple pie/ice cream/cookie fest at the Julian Pie Company, we thought we'd walk off our calories...but first, this!

I wanted to stop by and check it out while the girls remained outside enjoying the sunshine...

As you can see, the sun was now out but there was still a bit of a nippular (yes, that's a new word) feel in the air...

Luckily, it still was relatively quiet and peaceful here...

The girls, and of course, us, were craving some triangular crusty fruit filled goodness...

All right, we had a bit of some sugar with those pie crust cookies at Apple Alley Bakery so now it was time to move on to meet up with the teens...

Wow, from a gorgeous start of the week to a dismal rainy day!  As I type this, it's raining pretty hard outside!

As we all had the day off, Bert made a quick stop to drop off flowers at his father's grave to honor him for Veterans Day. After that, we jumped into the car to do a daytrip up to Julian, a small town up in them thar mountains in San Dee-ah-go (which of course means "whale's vagina")...
