VoG 2016

Over the year I snapped numerous images of the Virgin of Guadalupe...specifically for this once a year post...

on her feast day which is today...

The above photo was taken at Por Vida coffee in Barrio Logan as well as the next four photos. Bert and I had gone here earlier this year. They even had the VoG stamped on their coffee cups (another cup had the 'praying hands').  If you are ever in Barrio Logan, I do highly recommend a visit for their coffee (beans from James Coffee in Little Italy).

That espresso with brown sugar and cinnamon was pretty good here.

In nearby Chicano Park, the Virgin graces one of the pillars of San Diego's iconic Coronado Bay Bridge along with a small shrine at her feet feauring more candles in her image.

Along Logan Avaene was another mural (by local artist Mario Torero Acevedo)...

More from another visit to Por Vida. This was a framed cross stitch piece that I really liked.

Back to the same mural...

One of the shop winows on Logan Ave had a mock pillar of the bridge with a more modern take of the VoG.

For our Spring Break trip to Sonoma County are these photos taken at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Liberty Street in Petaluma.

At various Dollar Stores...

In a hallway near the bathroom at Salud Tacos, Barrio Logan:

On the underside of a skateboard at the French Press coffee shop in Santa Barbara:

There was of course, a framed image at el Presidio de Santa Barbara:

Grocery Outlet:

This was seen in a previous Vog Post, but here it is again, during a summer roadtrip where Cathy I passed went to Highland Park:

As seen on the side wall of a florist on the N. Figueroa, Highland Park.

Walmart:

I hadn't seen mini one before:

Yardage Town in Chula Vista:

From a recent visit in late December at Moreliana Pan with Cathy (note the Nativity set):

Panaderia Gonzalez in Nestor:

Previous Virgin of Gualalupe posts:
VoG 2015
VoG 2014
VoG 2013

There weren't as many photos as previous years but there were some really cool ones at Chicano Park and art pieces from Por Vida. It's always a cool surprise to find the VoG in random places or on random things like that skateboard deck and a coffee cup.
