Record Store Day crawl finds...

Back to Record Store Day, which was April 20th this year.  I had a fun time checking out different record stores with Cy. The San Diego Record Show was also a very cool event that I'm glad we checked out...

Hopefully, I can catch the event again next year and bring Bert and TC with me.

Here's a roundup of the stuff I picked up that day...

These were the Beatles pins I got for TC from the San Diego Record Show ($1 each), bought from the Third Eye Records vendor.

From another vendor,  (didn't catch his name but he was a private seller from San Diego), New Edition's second  self titled album (released in 1984) which featured the hits, "Cool it Now", "Mr. Telephone Man", "My Secret (Didja Gitit Yet?)" and "Lost in Love".  This album was $3, but there was a bulk deal, 4 albums for $10, but I didn't feel like buying three other albums; I just wanted this one.

Man, look how young they were! Pre-Bell Biv Devoe! Pre-Bobby Brown solo!

At Groovy Records, I picked up the Knacks' "...but the little girls understand" for $1 and Def Leppard's second album "High 'n Dry" for a few dollars more. It's one of my favorites and I have fond memories of this album.

There's nothing like listening to music on vinyl...

At Cow Records in Pacific Beach, I picked up a DVD featuring guitar hero, Joe Satriani - "The Satch Tapes", which I just watched the other night. It was very well done and featured never before seen live footage, music videos, interviews with Joe Satriani, his producers, his contemporary, fellow guitar hero and former student, Steve Vai, and even interviews with Nigel Tufnel, the lead singer of the fictional rock group, Spinal Tap.

Although these were not records, these gingham checked men's shirts (size small) also counted as purchases made on Record Store Day, courtesy of Thrift Trader in PB. These shirts ended up being $5 (the deal was $5.99 each or 4 for $20, so Cy and I found two items each).

They were practically new and looked tomboy cute. TC really liked these so I pretty much gave them to her. They look cool on her anyways. I totally want to wear the red, white, and blue one for July 4th!

Hopefully you are all enjoying the three day weekend!
