This post is nearly a couple of months late. During spring break, I took TC and her friend out and one of the places we stopped by was this little enclave of shops on Ray Street in North Park.

It's near these murals and I was interested in checking out this tiny shop...
it was called Indulge and I wasn't sure if it was related to the now defunct Indulge restaurant in downtown Chula Vista (it wasn't, as I later found out). Rather, this was a little boutique store that sold food stuffs like gourmet jams, spreads, crackers, mixes, fancy chocolates, as well as home and kitchen decor. It was very swanky inside and since it was tiny, I didn't feel comfortable taking photos inside since the owner was standing right there and could see everything.

His name was Ken and he and his partner just opened up shop in mid-February. He was a very amiable guy and seemed genuinely happy that I stopped by to look around. Many of their items are on the pricey side, but I saw a few things I ended up purchasing. The girls, on the other hand, were wandering around the store, freaking out over a $50 plate and some other expensive items they saw on display.
My purchase was bagged in a really nice gift bag complete with teal tissue paper! Wow, very classy. I didn't expect that.

The two items I got were a box of truffles by Seattle Chocolates ($13), and a pancake/waffle mix ($7) from Stonewall Kitchen (I'd tried their products before; N usually sends me gifts from Stonewall during Christmas time). Bert is the breakfast maker when it comes to pancakes and waffles, so I thought he might like using this mix.

There were three types of chocolates - milk chocolate (gold foil), dark chocolate with espresso (brown foil), and strawberry (pink foil).

Of the three, my favorite was the espresso followed by the strawberry (pictured below), which had an intense strawberry flavor, complete with bits of strawberries within.

There were nearly twenty pieces inside, making each pieceless than a $1.00. This was one of the specialty boxes offered at Indulge.
Here's a short video about their grand opening (from SD Healthy Living):
You can see the interior as well as the products and the owners.

Even though it's on the pricy side (I imagine they cater to the well heeled urban dwellers/DINKS with disposable income), there were a few other candies and spreads that I'd go back for, especially since I have that 20% coupon!
