It was a good thing getting here early. We had optimum parking for one thing, and secondly, no crowds to contend with on the sidewalks...
Beautiful orange flame-like flowers adorned many of the trees at the park...

In the distance, the girls rolled by (two by scooter and TC by skateboard). They had a blast zipping by on the meandering sidewalks, passing by a tiny playground, small stretches of beach, and a phalanx of stroller moms doing their version of 'bootcamp'!

They also climbed a tree while I fretted that they might fall. I didn't want to have to call their moms (who are my friends) to tell them, "Hey, your child fell out of a tree!" or something. Thank goodness, that didn't happen. Bert on the other hand was more lenient about the tree climbing.
We walked pretty far that day, starting off near the entrance and walking past the Hilton hotel where we saw two ofTC's old teachers walking their dogs (one of whom was also her other friend's teacher from another school). Small world!
The "cliffs" were in reality, three foot high .

Curious looking birds pecking for worms or bugs...

Aaaah, no crowds!

After an hour and a half or see, the girls were finally tired enough to declare they were hungry for lunch (at 11:15!), which I was secretly happy about. I was wanting to take them to Fashion Valley...

So we could go to Stacked! We had lots of places to hit up today. First the park, now lunch.

We got there before the lunch rush, so yay, no crowds.

Finally Bert got to eat here...it had been awhile since I was last here as well.

Ordering by ipad was fun for the gadget freaks...

Our burgers (with one cut off, sorry Bert):

The girls just had basic burgers and all seemed to have bacon on their minds. TC's friend had bacon and lettuce, her one healthy concession.

TC's had Bacon and American cheese and pickles. Pretty simple but effective.

This was KDD's burger. She had bacon and waffle cut fries on hers! Now that's a good combination!

I believe this was Bert's burger, which had a pretzel bun. His cheese was shredded which was kind of wierd. You'd think it would come as a slice. The meat was a turkey patty and you can see what fixings he had in there. He doesn't remember the sauce though. He really liked his combination and thought the ipad ordering system was a bit of a "schtick". It was convenient if you like to go through all those choices. But it could also be cumbersome if you're a tech-tard like me. I have clumsy fingers and end up pressing the wrong things or deleting the screen or whatever. Seriously, I am so lame with these things!

Lastly, my burger with caramelized onions, mushrooms, chipotle sauce, and lettuce leaves serving as the "bun". My burger had a nice kick to it from the roasted pepper. I don't really like eating bread too much so the lettuce was just fine.

Fries with regular ketchup and some other dip which was supposed to be spicy but it wasn't. There were also onion strings hiding in the corner. The girls didn't like the onion strings as much since they got soggy easily.
