Record Store Day outfit

Before going back to the Record Store Day crawl posts, I thought I'd throw in a random outfit post...

In honor of record store day, I wore my aluminum 45 adapter necklace which I thought rather fitting. In fact I got compliments on the necklace while Cy got compliments on her yellow 45 adaptor earrings that day...

I wanted to be comfortable so...

casual it was for me. I wore a new Converse gray and black patterned rayon top (bought on clearance at target the day before my birthday). I wasn't sure it I could pull it off since the cut is "boxy" and kind of "young looking". The hem of the top is also "hi-low" but if necessary, it was still long enough to tuck in.

Outfit deets: Earrings from Junc (they have two half circles with dangling arrow pointed spikes), top from Converse/Target, men's grommet belt (also from Junc, bought last year), reddish orange skinnies from Ann Taylor Loft, and mirrored sandals by Katie & Kelly (DSW). I also had on two bracelets, one silver with a sanskrit inscription (bought from the Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena, and a pyramid studded metal cuff.

I like these...the mirrored parts remind me of Cylons from the TV series, "Battlestar Galactica". The old series, NOT the new one!

The heels are pretty low, maybe 1  1/2", plus they are a wedge. It zips up in the back too so I don't have to worry about damn buckles, which I really think are a big PITA.

They are a fun pair of shoes and comfortable enough that I won't have to worry about breaking my ankle, like I do with wedges, which I haven't worn in awhile.

The mirrored metal pieces reminded me also of these songs with the word "Mirror" in the title:

"Mirror Mirror" - Def Leppard

This is from their 2nd album, "High 'n Dry", which is their BEST one! I also happened to buy the original LP that same day while at Groovy Records in Hillcrest.

This other song always cracks up TC because of the funny lyrics...

"Mirror in the Bathroom" - The English Beat

This song is also featured in "Grosse Point Blank" during the reunion scene where Martin is fighting the goon upstairs in his old high school. It's playing in the background while they're whaling on each other.

The Record Store Day posts shall continue, along with my Canada posts and a few other random ones...

I loved your outfit that day, especially your necklace and shoes! Funny how we both wore the adaptors, but they were definitely fitting :)
