Return to Stacked

After enduring our non-yawn inducing and eyelid drooping experience four hours of financial aid  fun at the workshop, the co-workers and I headed over to Fashion Valley. One of them wanted to check out the Nordstrop half-yearly sale so I figured, let's go here instead.

The original plan was to have lunch at Bali Thai down the street from the workshop venue. Well, shopping and Stacked won out!

Almost everyone in the office has a Smartphone, except two of us (includes myself). Four out of the six were there that day along with Mi Firme Heine (MFH) who also went to the workshop. They all have iPhones and are always checking shit on it, playing with them, etc. Anyways, I figured they'd enjoy this place since you order on iPads and use technology and blah blah blah.  A few were resorting to looking at the paper menus but after encouraging them to drop the pre-historic tablets, moved onto the eyecandy instead.

One side of the table started off with a order of onion strings with fries. The dipping sauces were curried ketchup (that was different), chiptole mayo dressing, and red pepper mayo. I'm sure there were fancier "corporate" names for those but that is what they were in plain English.

Our side had an order of sweet potatoe fries - we had the same dipping sauces plus an extra, butternut aioli. My favorite was the red pepper sauce.

One person decided not to get a burger (yay for the blog!)! She got a pizza that included red and green peppers, salmon, and pesto. It was quite a lot for one person. She ended up taking 2/3 of it home. I wished I tried a small piece but I was too excited with my own food.

One co-worker ordered the Simple Stack which he supplemented with applewood smoked bacon. There was a SNAFU because another burger that he says he didn't order (and was supposed to be removed from the ipad after checking with one of the servers but wasn't) came to the table as well. It was taken back. I wonder what they do with orders that are wrong. Do they keep the food? Toss it? Serve it to someone else (Gawd, I hope not!)? Inquiring minds (my own) want to know.

One person got the grilled chicken with a whole wheat bun, lettuce, mustard, red pepper, caramelized onions, and pickles. Hey, to each their own, right? No cheese or sauce for her.

I didn't deviate too much from what I ordered the last time.  I got the burger with wheat bun, lettuce, roasted poblano peppers, chipotle mayo dressing, pepperjack cheese, and grilled mushrooms.

I really like those grilled peppers! The mushrooms were also a tasty touch. The meat was medium. I think I might want to try the pretzel bun next time.

MFH went overboard and got the burger with TWO cheese (bleu and cheddar), lettuce, pickles, tomato, onions, and chipotle mayo (on the side). There might have been other stuff in there but it was hidden.

Everyone had a fun time using the ipads to order. Everyone except me got some sort of iced tea drink (black, citrus white, and Arnold Palmer). Just water, thank you very much.

Here's my previous visit to Stacked (which also links other bloggers' visits).

When I go with Bert and TC, I may want to try their sausages next time or that salmon pizza. Forget the salads!
