(Tokidoki calendar in my office)
for those of you that celebrate it, Merry Christmas to you!
This post will focus on Christmas related decor...
Below, my mini purple Star Wars tree decorated with my Star Wars Pez and mini Star Wars ornaments bought years ago on clearance:

The other Star Wars Tree (a mini black one that we dubbed the Dark Side tree):

I bought this chocolate hazelnut poter for Bert; it's from a local brewery, Duck Foot in Mira Mesa. We have yet to open it but plan to do so soon.
Santa pinata seen on Logan Avenue:

Jack Skellington at Tiger Eye Salon, Golden Hill:

Nativity set at Moreliana Pan, Chula Vista:

"Christmas comes to IB" poster at Pizzeria Luigi, IB:

Musical and pre-lit capiz parol as seen at Seafood City, Mira Mesa:

A ix of Dollar Store solar toys with Pez (the NEW green penguin and the NEW red elf):

Here's the rest of my solar toys from the Dollar Store (a few were gifts). Some of them have moving eyes. Others rock back and forth. I actually didn't take these home during the winter break. The noise they make would drive me crazy. Since it's dark in my office, they don't really "move".

Here is a sampling of Christmas tree as seen from my recent excursions in various parts of San Diego. I haven't done individual blog posts on some of these visits yet but those will be forthcoming.
Otay Ranch Town Center, east Chula Vista:

Sheldon's Service Station, La Mesa

El Cilantro, Imperial Beach (this was one of my favorite trees):

Seafood City, Mira Mesa (it's made out of food!):

Nijiya Market, Kearny Mesa:

Zion Market, Kearny Mesa (it's the return of the piano playing giant teddy bear!):

Ranch 99, the older one in Kearny Mesa:

Thuan Phat, Linda Vista:

Lucky Seafood, Mira Mesa (not really a Christmas tree, but thought I'd throw this in here):

Uptown Tavern, Hillcrest:

Mankind in Hillcrest (loved this rainbow tree):

Carnival Market, Chula Vista:

Bad Madge, South Park:

Chiropractor's office, Chula Vista:

Black Market Bakery, North Park:

Imperial Grounds Coffee, Logan Heights (these had great pinata ornaments):

Amethyst Moon, La Mesa (Prince would be proud):

Sprouts on J St., Chula Vista:

Golden Hill Cafe, Golden Hill (interesting rooster topper):

Tree at LHOOQ/ExRealis, Carlsbad:

Global Coffee, Sorrento Valley:

Copa Vida, Sorrento Valley:

Plazas Mexican Food, Chula Vista:

Cafe Moto, Barrio Logan:

Moreliana Pan, Chula Vista (Cathy and I admired the real pan dulce ornaments):

Neveria Tocumbo, Chula Vista (as seen through the window; they were closed):

Manna BBQ, Chula Vista (this was like a cool winter fantasy):

Another post is coming up featuring various Christmas/holiday themed window paintings from throughout San Diego. Some were quite interesting to say the least.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and holiday season.

nice collection of trees! the lunar new year one stuck out to me.. do you associate with that too? btw we found a penguin pez in our bag during hubby's christmas party white elephant exchange and it reminded me about your impressive collection =P
I love the tokidoki calendar. I also like how you took pics of so many Christmas decorations. I was gone for so much of December that I missed out on most of the decorations in San Diego.
Thank you Lynn! Happy New Year to you and Dennis! :)
You know I never really paid attention to the trees in the past but this year for whatever reason, I noticed how differently each store decorated them. The yellow tree from Lucky was different for me. Not a Christmas tree. No, I do not celebrate Lunar New Year, but I do like the traditions associated with it. Yay for the penguin pez. If it was blue, then it's the older version. The 2016 version is green. :)
Hi Kirbie,
Yes, I love the Tokidoki calendar as well. I already have my 2017 calendar ready to hang when I get back to work next week. I really enjoy seeing all of the decor during the holidays. I was so surprised to see the Star Wars inflatables on top of that house.
Happy New Year to you and Mr. K!
