Not when I had a coupon to use...
Plus, I was cleaning out one of our junk drawers and came across a McDonald's gift card. Bert called the number on the back and found that we had $10 on it. I wonder how old this giftcard was. In any case, I wanted to get the Free Cherry Berry Chiller and one of the other drinks...

I wasn't feeling it for McD's that day, but got TC a cheeseburger and fries. The drink on the left is the Stawberry Lemonade...

Both drinks were pretty sweet. They were of a watery slush consistency. Of the two, I liked the Cherry Berry Chiller much better. The Strawberry Lemonade was just lemonade with a few squirts of strawberry syrup. No real berries in there...

Free!

A few days later, I saw these coupons in the paper. I still had $$$ left on the gift card, so off we went...

The drinks should be familiar to you by now. Same as yesterday's. TC got the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit. The bacon was sticking out...I always liked how McD's eggs look so perfect. I'm sure there is a diabolical reason for that but I won't think too hard about it or else I will get a headache and a guilt trip for even eating McD's for a late breakfast.

My handbasket to dietary hell was this, the sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit.

Please forgive me o' Food gods.

Did we like these breakfast sandwiches? Of course we did! I haven't had one of these in years. I think it will be a very long time before we do this again. Of the two sandwiches, I liked mine better. More sausage within rather than two thin measly strips of low quality bacon.
Our timing was also on the dot. Right after I placed the order, I heard the shift manager call out, "Last Breakfast!", then they manually turned over their menus to the lunch menu. It was 10:30 am.
Anyhow, I had my third trial pair of multifocal contact that morning. The previous two pairs were hard for me to get used to. Since my eyesight changed after turning (cough) forty, I've had to use progressive lenses (the old word was 'bi-focal'). The comparable contact lenses are called 'multi-focal' and different strengths have clearer near vision with not-so-clear distance or vice versa. There are four strengths (1 to 4 with 4 having the most clear nearvision). I got bumped down to a "1" and I have to say that the 1's were much better than the 2's. It was disconcerting for me to drive and not be able to see clearly afar. It was like looking through a dirty screen door.
The other cool thing was, I was gifted a pair of designer sunglasses by one of my students. She just graduated and that was her (unexpected) present to me. Her parents are my eye doctors. The only thing was, I didn't like the style. They were these huge Jackie O-style shades by Tory Burch. When her mom told me I could trade them for another style, I was relieved. So I found some leather covered Aviator-style shades (also by Tory Burch).
Very cool they are and it makes me want to wear my contacts more so I can wear those shades!

"My" McD's had a "buy 2 sausage egg biscuit for $3.50" sign in the window, so that and one shared $1 coffee was breakfast. So good. I call my contacts 'bifocal'. People ask me how I tilt my eyes to look unde the lines. Your brain just has to get used to seeing things and when it does, they are awesome.
ooh, i must have missed that coupon!
i am still getting used to these multifocal lenses. so wierd not seeing everything so crisp the eye doctor was saying with the multifocal, if you want clearer 'near', you have to rob from the 'far'. and vice versa.
Got the coupon too, but mine was in Vietnamese! I was the opposite. Even though it was totally fake, I loved the strawberry lemonade and thought the cherry berry chiller was meh.
No strawberry cream pie in your area? It was yum. I'm waiting for the s'mores pie to hit up here now.
hi wc - wow, vietnamese coupons!
i didn't see anything for strawberry cream pie. perhaps it was there but i just didn't notice it.
