What's so special about a video store?
Well, as a trivia buff and connoisseur of all things quirky, I had actually found this place on a website when searching for quirky or odd museums in the Portland area. Duly noting in my check list of "must see places", I didn't realize it was the same place that KDB as talking about.
According to KDB, the original Mike's Movie Madness was housed in a large home with each room housing various genres of movies, both video and dvd. Interspersed among the rooms were the vast collection of movie props and costumes amassed over the years by the owner.

Mikes Movie Madness relocated to this present location in 2007 and not only houses films that range between mainstream blockbusters to independent and foreign films in every genre you can imagine. The video store also doubles as "Mike's Museum of Motion Picture History"
Since it's a retail video store, there is no admission fee. And just like with the Good Food Here pod, it was still quite early so the store wasn't open.
We admired the mural by their parking lot and tried to identify as many movies as we could. I spy Grease, Conan, Austin Powers, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Edward Scissorhands, and Chuckie LeRay.

Stickers found on a newspaper dispenser. Those were actual 'googly eyes' on the SKAM sticker.

Next to it was this ad which I found funny. "The Hunger Games" movie had just opened...

KDB needed to get a few things done for work at his house so we dropped him off first before heading out into the omnipresent drizzle. I wanted to check out another place on our 'must see' list and also check out a place we saw on our way to the Belmont neighborhood...
