We were back in South Park for lunch, but before doing so, wanted to check out this little shop on Beech St.

All the red in the window display attracted me as well as a tiny glimpse of what lay within...
I was pleasantly surprised to see the VoG on a wall!

Studio Maureen is actually connected to The Gallery Next Door, both of which is owned and operated by Maureen Ceccarelli for the past 26 years.
It's a mixture of handmade and vintage items by local artist from San Diego as well as Tijuana.

There are so many unique items here ranging from jewelry, handmade cards, sculpture, paintings, and knick knacks.

Shot taken from The Gallery Next Door, which also had fanciful aprons (think June Cleaver goes wild) and clothing (although the styles were a bit too boho and "old" looking for my taste).

It was such a cute shop and it was really nice talking to Maureen herself.

After persuing the store and buying a few items each, we walked up the street where this caught my eye...

It was an old fashioned letter slot! The one above was actually on a separate panel; it is not the one below but it was the same type of fixture. I really loved the look of the metal frame and the font, but thought the slot was placed a bit low.

Here were two of three ornaments that I bought from Maureen's...

These Virgin of Guadalupe ornaments (starburst and heart) were made by Maureen herself! The small one was $3 and had a light blue glaze.

The larger heart shaped one had two shades of blue glazes and a flower pattern as well as the VoG; this was $6.

There were so many unique little gifts here and I do plan on coming back to see what she has from time to time.

Our next destination was supposed to be Buona Forchetta however, they are NOT open for lunch on the weekdays, so therefore we had to execute Plan B...
