Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens, Liberty Station

While still in beautiful Point Loma, we made our way to Liberty Station...

specifically Barracks 14...

Look for that building and the building with Moment Cycle Sport. Park there and head through the arched hallway...

As you walk in, there is a walled off area, which is the garden  portion of Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens. It was pretty crowded that afternoon of our visit.

We popped into the main dining area which was quite impressive with the vaulted ceiling and the brewing company's gargoyle logo looking down on diners...

According to our server, the restaurant complex can serve up to 800+ guests!

We were actually seated in another dining area with a bar (there are four bars total at Stone)...

just outside was outdoor dining as well as the bocce ball courts which we took a peek at later.

As we already had a bit of a lunch earlier that day at that random Russian/Turkish place...

Instead of an actual meal, we just got an appetizer to share as well as a flight of four beers. It was so hard trying to choose four from their extensive list:

From left to right : Avery White Rascal (a Belgian "witbier" or wheat beer), Lightning Thunderweizen, Brown Ale, and Monkey Paw's Santa's Pet Monkey...

Our appetizer was the tilapia ceviche with chips.

Not bad...

The fish was fresh and perfectly marinated with the citrus...

It was the perfect snack to end our few hours of exploring San Diego.

Their bocce ball courts:

On our way out, the dining room was noticeable less crowded

Their garden/dining area outside...

which is directly under the flight path of Lindbergh Field...

There are tons of seating options and this seems to be quite the happening place.

Who else went to Stone?
Kirbie went here back when they opened in May

We'd love to go here again when it's not as crazy crowded and actually try an entree or two instead of an appetizer. We love that we can try 4 oz pours for only $2 each as well. There'a a few more we'd like to try for our next visit.

At other places, we usually get a sampler of all of the offerings...and would get drunk with just a sip of each here! I do want to try the food here and think the ceviche would have been our choice also. So many choices at Liberty Station now...

Hi Cathy, yes a sampler is always a good way to go. I'm glad that Bert chose the ceviche - it was light enough to enjoy.

Hey CC - You know...I'm not much of a fan of the Stone "Cheesecake Factories" the food seems really contrived and corporate.....probably because Stone just hires some corporation to run the restaurant operation.

Thanks Kirk. We haven't been to any of Stone's places. I know the menu is corporate and blah but we just wanted some beer (and an appetizer).

The beer called "Evil Twin Even More Jesus" made me snicker.

Ha ha, I should have tried that one. We tend to go for the darker beers. I really hate the IPAs - too hoppy and bitter for me.
