Moonlight Beach

Before going to our next destination. we took a short stroll along S. Coast HWY 101 with Supe...

I wanted to check out some of the shops and window displays...

The walk was also an excuse to walk off our lunch! Supe also wanted to show us his favorite beach...

As seen on the window of a boutique. The other window with the Merry Christmas greeting was getting cleaned off...

I liked these mosaic circles set in the sidewalks. This one featured the Coaster, the commuter train for North County folks which runs from Oceanside to downtown San Diego.

I liked the look of this old theater, La Paloma, which was been around since 1928.

This reminds me...Bert and I haven't seen "Catching Fire" (the sequel to "The Hunger Games") yet. Dagnabbit.

We walked a few blocks and headed back on the opposite side where we headed west on D St.

Superman wanted to show us the beach that he and his family enjoy, Moonlight Beach. The beach supposedly gets its name from the locals having picnics at night time. Whatever the real story is, I think the name of the beach is pretty.

We didn't really go on the sand that day, but TC and I went nearly all the way down while the guys were talking at one of the landings overlooking the beach. I didn't want to get sand in my sneakers. I know, party pooper me.

What a great view...and the beach wasn't crowd either.

Supe's favorite section is a bit north from this vantage point. He says it's cleaner and that the bathrooms are nice too. Hopefully with actual doors on the stalls!

Yes, this is WINTER in San Diego...nice, very nice.

I'm glad that we were able to check out a tiny glimpse of Encinitas that day...

Only in a beachside town would you see these holiday window paintings...

Some anatomically incorrect snow wahines...

Where are their coconuts?

Their counterpart was on the other window, another surfing Santa.

These paintings were seen on a Hawaiian plate lunch eatery (don't remember the name).

Moonlight Beach
located at the very end of Encinitas Blvd in beautiful Encinitas.

Before parting ways, I took a quick detour at one of the stores at the Pacific Station with Superman...

Not that it matters right now, but that 7-11 kitty corner from the movie theater, next to the Hawaiian Restaurant is where I found the ketchup flavor Lays potato chips. Such nice photos of everything. We should never complain about weather.

Thanks for your kind words. We are totally spoiled in SoCal. At least we are not freezing our #$@'s off. :)

Very cool! It's a quaint little street there and so very close to the beach too!
