This morning was a total rarity because we were actually headed out TO breakfast...
It was kind of nice just getting up and not having to fix anything, well except my hair and face and all, but I digress. We also had errands to run in the area so why not maximize our time spent there? I wanted to use these coupons too. The one below is a coupon you can get from Vega Caffe's website.
While this one was from the Entertainment Value book I got late last year. We were going to use both!
The coffee & deli place is in a wierd warehouse area filled with furniture places. Remember, this was built out in Eastlake when the housing boom was still going strong in the late 90's.
Lots of furniture and home decor warehouses in these business centers like Bassett and Ashley, mixed in with boutique gyms, martial arts and dance studios, and a bowling alley.
This is the same business center that had the Brewhouse, which unfortunately went out of business last October.
Vega Caffe is next to Danzart studio. We got there right before they opened (It was a crapshoot because hours are not posted on their website or on yelp, WTH) at 9 am.
They serve all kinds of things here...One of these days I'll have to try tostilocos. It was too early in the morning to eat chips with all kinds of sauces and toppings on it! They also make chamangos here too...hmmm.
It was pretty spacious inside. In nicer weather, there's also outside seating.

Our tortas and breakfast sandwich...
We used the internet coupon for the Breakfast Sandwich and Coffee for $2.99. TC had this sandwich, not the coffee. Filled with a slice of ham, cheese, eggs and bacon on your choice of bread (wheat in this case), this had everything that TC likes about breakfast foods. We also snuck in a few bites and enjoyed it as well.
Bert used the other coupon (buy one get one) for our tortas. This was mine, the Milanesa which was on the thin side but it was perfect for breakfast.
while he had the Cubano (filled with pierna or pork leg meat, ham, and wierdly, carne asada meat). Both sandwiches had lettuce and guacamole in them. The bread for our tortas was nice and toasty.
Bert and I shared our halves. I liked my Milanesa better than the Cubano even though it wasn't as "stuffed" of a sandwich. I was surprised to see carne asada meat in the Cubano. It seemed like an afterthought. Some pieces had fallen out and I was wondering if they mixed up our order with someone else's. Unfortunately, the carne asada meat, at least for my sandwich half, was cold! Bert said his wasn't cold, but he might not have noticed. Overall, we all enjoyed our sandwiches. The coupon made it a sweeter deal. Maybe we'll try their fruit salads and chamango (and tostilocos) next time.

The guys working there were really nice and even brought our food out to us. A few other folks came in to get smoothies and tortas to go, including a couple I sometimes see at the gym. We still have a few other items on that internet coupon to use in the future...so we will be back.
