Turns out that this was a seasonal item so I bought a few to give as gifts to friends and kept one for ourselves. The box depicted five different kinds, yet there were SIX in the box, which was a nice surprise! All of the candies had almonds but it was the textures that were different. Some were like nougat, other like a hard brittle, yet another was covered in chocolate. We loved them all!
Now this box was one of the gifts from the lovely Carol of CAB Cooks...
Holy Shit Motherfkg Yoda 'n Shit - these were so good! They were like the chocolate version of Russian tea cakes. I think I will try making a version of this so I can have it anytime! These DID NOT last long!
When we met up with KD a few weeks ago, she gave us our belated Christmas gifts including this homemade mini bundt cake.
I thought it was so adorable. It was a lemon frosted pound cake which we all enjoyed.
Lastly, these were treats from Hong Kong that Jinxi of Jinxi eats brought during our lunch at Sab-e-Lee, individually wrapped pineapple cakes and walnut candy. I've never had either kind before, so this was exciting to me.

This was the pineapple cake in the yellow wrapped.
It was a small rectangle of soft shortbread-like cake with a pineapple jelly filling. It reminded me of a Fig Newton, but much much better than a Fig Newton (I hate figs!). The filling also had a nice sweet "chew" to it.
This was the other pineapple cake from the orange wrapper. It was bigger and square shaped.
I liked this cake as well. They were perfect and bite sized.
These were such a sweet treat and I may just have to find these cakes someone on Convoy or at Ranch 99! The walnut candy was also pretty good. The caramelized sugar was a very dark color and had a nice but strong and nutty taste which is probably enjoyed best in small quantities.
Now to get rid of all these calories! Time to hit the gym, ha ha!
