1997 to be exact.
I wanted to include one of my favorite songs from this Queen tribute compilation...
That honor goes to Mexican rock band, Fobia which covered Queen's 1981 hit with David Bowie, "Presionando" ("Under Pressure"):
It's fun branching out with songs in different languages...
Presion...
Presionándote
Aplastándote sin preguntar
Presionando ...
Nos quieren confundir,
nos pueden dividir,
mas nunca callar
Although the original song by Queen is one of my faves, this cover version by Mexican rock band Fobia, does a pretty decent job of adding their own twist. I remember first hearing it from my friend (and co-worker whom I shall nickname "La Ley" in honor of her favorite rock en Espanol band). TORC also had this compilation playing in her car. The album has so many cool renditions of Queen songs by notable rock en Espanol acts like Molotov (Bohemian Rhapsody), Soda Stereo, and Aterciopelados).
Until next week's installment...
And to take a trip down memory lane, here's my original post: "F" is for Foo Fighters...
