Astroboi (the King of side streets) took the long way over to our next stop...
Above, we could see that retrofitting and repair is underway at the century old Georgia Street Bridge. Meanwhile, a new building is going up in Hillcrest where Thrift Trader used to be...
On Washington Street, I noted to Astroboi the trendy font used for the upcoming Warwick (hotel I assumed?). He told me that it used to be a place where gay porn was filmed!!!
One the corner of 6th and Univeristy is now an eatery called Hive. This replaced the diner named after Harvey Milk, which used to be City Delicatessen back in the day.
Chocolat, which has been there since at least 2011, had replaced the short lived Mille Feuille (which opened in 2009 and closed in 2011). But...back in the 80's, that corner used to be The Gap. Yes, as in the clothing company that has pretty much downhill.

Fast forward to PB...where I admired the architectural block on this apartment complex.
Astroboi secured street parking and while heading to Garnet a block away, we noticed these pile of rocks...Fittingly, this building had the words 'Bedrock' on it, in a sort of caveman like font.
This was a vape shop.
On Garnet, more architectural blocks...
We found out that Thrift Trader has moved eastward and across the street
Over at Goodwill, we were marveling over the many blingy and leopard print items...It was like Mrs. Roper and Peg Bundy had given away their old clothes.
Good look, yes?
We excited to see a new thrift store further down the street, White Elephant.
The prices were really reasonable. I didn't see anything over $7.99. Most items I saw were $2.99, $3.99 and $5.99. They even sold LP records and those were going for less than $5 (many were $2.99). That's pretty damn cool especially in this day and age. The clothing selection was also much better than what we saw at Goodwill and the UCP Store (United Cerebral Palsy), with more trendy and up to date clothes. I DID however, score a vintage 80's Hawaiian print top for a whopping $3.99 (photo will be forthcoming) - it is SO LOUD and I love it! The gal working here was really nice too.
I noticed a new poke place was now there, replacing Pacific Beach Bakery (which used to be Sugar & Scribe). This is just a few steps away from another poke place, Poke Chop which had replaced Papa Luna's Empanadas. Who comes up with these names, omg. Poke this, Poki that.
Poki sounds too much like "pookie" to me (the Filipino slang term for the vadge)

It's much smaller inside. Deals aren't as good as White Elephant but if you buy four pieces at $5.99, then it becomes $20 total.
In light of Chris Cornell's recent death, we happened upon a Soundgarden CD, buyt with no CD's inside.
I wanted to get a drink at the new Better Buzz, so we headed west on Garnet. It's by Rigoberto's Taco Shop.
The new Better Buzz also has a drive through (bigger and better than the older one down the street where the cars always block traffic) as well as a lovely covered patio.
I got my go-to drink here, the mint mocha buzz.
