Cupcakes galore!

Just down the same street was our dessert destination. MFH hadn't been there before and she was curious about the hearing of the marriage between beer and cupcakes.

Where oh where could we have gone?

Yes, the one and only PubCakes!

Even after having that heavenly Aaysh Essarayah dessert at Alforon, we still wanted to have a little something sweet.

We got two of each of their mini's...

Here's the view from the other end of the table...

Top row - a lone Punkin' Vegan, pairs of the Top Ten Cake, and the new Dubbel root beer.
Middle row - of the Beer for Breakfast, and pairs of the Irish Car Bomb and the Velvet Glove (which was gone that last time I went so I was happy to finally try it! It's red velvet!).
Bottom row - the other Beer for Breakfast, pairs of the Stoned Portzilla (my favorite) and the new Half Nelson (using Alpine Nelson brew with a lemon custard filling and vanilla frosting) which was delicious!

MFH and I sampled a few of our cupcakes. I had the Stoned Portzilla of course along with the Half Nelson. The rest we saved for later (in my case, for  Bert).

Here's the Half Nelson...When I hear the word Nelson I think of the Bratpack actor Judd Nelson or Nelson Muntz (the laughing bully in "The Simpsons" who was named after Judd Nelson) or that awful 90's duo, Nelson (with those blond twins)!  All right! Rock on Gunnar and Matthew (I had to look them up to remember their names)! NOT.  The 90's were a very dark period in music.

See my previous posts on PubCakes here (that posts also links my first two visits).

It was great spending some quality time with my good friend, made even better by sharing an excellent meal and desserts!  Hopefully we won't have to wait another year to have another lunch together!

And just because I mentioned Nelson earlier in the post, here they are!

Yes, LIMP POWER BALLAD! They look like the bastard albino sons of Johnny Winter (or Edgar)! I think I need some ear bleach!

I love how the little cupcakes look lined up on the plate - so cute! I finally made it there this summer but my photos looked lame and I didn't post about it. BUT I bought one of the pubcakes groupons so hopefully I'll get some better shots this time.

hi mary - make sure to call ahead for the groupon. they are doing orders with 24 hour advance notice. also, they are only doing 10 groupons per day.

I'd be all over those red velvet ones. I made some minis for the Mister's birthday and it was so easy to eat.

Bwahahaha, albino sons and ear bleaching! Those are my two new phrases for the week.
