After having chowed down on those delectably wicked wings from KyoChon in Cerritos, we headed to downtown L.A.

(downtown L.A. skyline) Since both of us are Potter freaks, there was only one place we were going...
Mural on our way to Whimsic Alley...

Bert, TC and I will be seeing the Tim Burton retrospective this month at the LACMA...

Cool artwork we saw on around the corner from Whimsic Alley. We parked on a side street (free parking) and walked the block and a half to get there.

I told you I'd be back! Plus I was hoping to replace TC's Tom Riddle pin that I lost.

Ha! Love this shirt! Ron is wearing the frilly dress robes from "Goblet of Fire"!

(Ron Weasley and Harry Potter before the "Yule Ball" in "Goblet of Fire")
Here's the scene:
Too bad they weren't selling REAL versions of the Maurader's Map.
"I solemnly swear I am up to no good"

"Mischief managed"!
D ended up buying the replica of the Elder Wand (used by Dumbledore) for her Halloween costume. She bought Gryffindor dress robes and a wizard cap as well.

The hallway leading to the Great Hall (and the bathrooms in the back). The portraits on the walls are those that change when you look at it from certain angles. They are old fashioned daguerrotype shots but as you shift, they turn into a ghoul or zombie.

The Great Hall again...

Wow, I never knew about this...

It was fun watching D try on the different hats. Her students are going to think she is the Bomb Principal this Halloween!
Can you believe we still wanted to have another snack of the potato ball persuasion? That could only mean one place. Porto's. And there was a Porto's in Burbank just a few miles away.
(photos above and below) That was an interesting lot there. A mish mash of knick knacks...

A few months ago the billboards were plastered with "True Blood". Now it was "Pan Am".

The Hollywood Museum currently has a retrospective on "I Love Lucy". We're thinking of maybe seeing that as well when we do our LACMA Tim Burton trip.

D and I were having a pretty damn good time! Pastries, nem nuong, Korean wings and oh yeah, Potato Ballz coming right up!
