Grauman's and the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Does this photo look a bit familiar? A similar view was in my previous post for my roadtrip with D.

This is the same building (the Hollywood Museum) next to Mel's Diner (where's Flo? Kiss my grits? Oh, wrong place!). Bert, TC and I had just left Whimsic Alley and we were about to head into tourist-ville...

L.A. traffic was terrible that. We didn't know it at that point, but there was a movie premiere happening along Hollywood Blvd.  Hence even more traffic than usual.

It was for "Cars 2" (I thought the first one was awful and a waste of my time).

Somehow, we found parking in a nearby lot. It was crazy out there. I began to have second thoughts about being here. All those people made me feel so claustrophobic. Well, it wasn't as bad as Times Square in NYC but it was still crowded!!!

Here are some shots of the stars on the boulevard...

Grauman's Chinese Theatre:

TC was so excited to see this:

Asian tourists...they had an interesting sense of style. Not quite "Fruits" tho'!

"NO WIRE HANGERS!!!!"

The former Governator...

Now these are classic movie stars...

Star Wars!

Yo' man, Bruce Lee was awesome! "Fists of Fury", "The Chinese Connection", "Enter the Dragon"!

Still one of my faves since high school, Johnny Depp (remember "21 Jumpstreet"?)!

Bewb mugs anyone? Anyone?

More of that crowd for "Cars 2"...

And there goes another bus featuring "TB"!

Oh yeah, Eric Northman!

Seeing Grauman's Chinese Theatre, the footprints, and the stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame was pretty touristy but I've always wanted to see it. It was fun seeing the different stars on the sidewalk (Eddie Murphy, Jackie Chan, Englebert Humpmydick Humperdinck, Michael Jackson, etc) but it was not fun trying to dodge the celebrity impersonators who are known to hound tourists. They go up to you and ask to have a photo with you then ask for money. We made sure not to make eye contact with any of them.

It was time to head over to our hotel to relax...

The Mister and I did this back in 2002 (holy crap almost a decade ago). I took pictures of mostly the classic stars, Humphrey Bogart, Gregory Peck, Clint Eastwood. Funny the only star I shot was Bab's.

hi c - tc and i'd never been here before just bert back in the late 80's (yikes). there were more stars of famous people but i didn't see the need to take pix of them. plus there were people walking all over the footprints. it took a while to get a clear shot of the harry potter kids' block.
