More iPod Roulette!

Let's see what this round brings us:

International Lover - Prince
Another not so subtle song by the master of sexual innuendo himself. This is Prince as your flight captain speaking...
The Immigrant Song - Led Zeppelin
I used to use this song as "filler" for my mix tapes because it was so short! My daughter recognizes this song because it was used in "School of Rock"
Bombs Away - The Police
One of my favorite songs from my fave Police album, "Zenyatta Mondatta"...

Too Fast for Love - Motley Crue
Back when they still sounded raw!The Donnas' version also rocks!
Cemetry Gates - The Smiths
Classic Smiths - cheerful music/morbid lyrics
Stick 'Em - Fat Boys
Good for a larf! "Brrrr Stick 'em ! Ha ha-ha stick 'em!"
Lie to Me - Depeche Mode
Another hidden gem...
Rave Up/Shut-Up - The Rave Ups
This song was featured briefly in "Pretty in Pink" - the scene were Duckie talks with a nightclub bouncer played by Andrew Dice Clay. Inside the club, the Rave Ups themselves are playing this song. The Rave Ups were Molly Ringwald's favorite band at the time. If you look closely, you can see it scrawled on her three ring binder in "Sixteen Candles".
True - Spandau Ballet
Speaking of "Sixteen Candles".Sigh...Jake Ryan. Haha, whenever I hear this song, I expect to hear Oingo Boingo's "Wild Sex (in the Working Class) immediately after it, just like the movie! Complete with a spastic Farmer Ted proclaiming, "Hot! Hot! Very Hot!"
The Ocean - U2
I love early U2. Anything after "The Joshua Tree" sucked...
Institutionalized - Suicidal Tendencies
Classic angst! They were so young here!

Overpowered by Funk - The Clash
Wow, haven't heard this one in years...
Beat Street - Grandmaster Flash
Gotta have your early hip hop...
Love Letters - Dario Marianelle (from "Atonement" score)
Although I loved the movie, it's so sad I can't even watch it again...
Angel (Will You Be My Angel) - Pale Saints
Shoegaze/Dreampop...
Heaven Tonight - Yngwie Malmsteen
80's cheese rock featuring Swedish guitarist who was a pioneer neo-classicist metal. This song featured ex Rainbow frontman, Joe Lynn Turner as lead singer for Rising Force.

Quadrophenia (entire album) - The WhoI think that's how it got downloaded, as one continuous "song". Like "Abbey Road", there are so song breaks. Love the intro, "I am the Sea/The Real Me" and the ending "The Rock/Love Reign O'er Me"...
Peg - Steely Dan
You can hear Doobie Brother's frontman Michael McDonald crooning in the background...
Alone Again Or - The Damned (1986 version)
This was a cover; the original was by Love (1967). Loved the orchestral parts, very Tijuana Brass. I also like the version by the Chris Perez Band (he was the widower of slain Tejano singer, Selena)

Until the next installment!
