We wanted ice cream...
Here are some examples of vintage office equipment seen in an accountant's office window...I know that's a typewrite in the front. I'm not sure what the one behind it is.

An ancient calculator? I wonder what the hand crank is for...

Another look at that mysterious machine with numbers...

TC liked these sleeping dog and cat toys seen at a mom 'n pop book/gift shoft. These looked pretty real!

Awwwww....(cue the abrupt sound of a needle scratching a record)...Well, as cute as they are, these toys are pretty damn useless. Unless these walk around, do the dishes, vacuum the floor, or what not, they are just taking up space. I wonder if they make snoring noises or if they move. That would be kinda creepy.

Too bad this place was closed. We could have gone for some gelato.

I saw this cool street sign when we took a wrong turn! Like the street signs named after Philippine revolutionaries in San Francisco's SOMA District, I'm sure there is history behind this. In San Diego's Silver Strand, there is a Leyte Road on the way to Coronado. Near Montgomery High School in the South Bay, there is an enclave of homes with Filipino named streets, like Mabuhay Way, Cagayan Ave, Lanao Lane, and Lungos Court. There are also Hawaiian named streets in the same neighborhood - Poipu Way, Wailea Way, and Hawaii Way.

No desserts here and we didn't want to go to Fenton's again...so on my "to try" list, we headed over to the Temescal neighborhood. Up next, sorbet at Scream...

I have a friend in Boston that had one of those hyper-realistic sleeping cat plushies. One day he had it in the back window of his car on a scorching hot day and a good samaritan called the police. My friend got back to his car just as they were about to break into his car. Rather than laugh and walk away, the police tried to save face and gave him a minor scolding.
hi thane - uh, your friend was a GUY and he had one of those? ha ha.
those things do look pretty real and if i saw one in a window of a car, i'd probably call the cops too!
