Before returning to San Diego, we had lunch with Bert's bro/SIL at Brodard Chateau, a Vietnamese restaurant in Garden Grove. It is the more "upscale" sister restaurant of Brodard's, also in Little Saigon.

I'd been wanting to go here since reading about it on Wandering Chopsticks' blog (post linked at the end). Plus, my SIL is a new convert to Vietnamese food and was also curious to try this place...
I'll be brief today.
Nice and swanky bar inside...

See their menu online here:

This was two order of the Nem nuong (pork rolls), which Brodard is known for:

Sweet potato and shrimp fritter. I would have liked this better if there were more shrimp. There were only two pieces.

Banh Khot (moon cake) filled with shrimp! I could have eaten the whole plate! Loved this...

Banh Xeo (crepe with pork and shrimp):

My entree - Seafood with XO Sauce...

My MIL's cicken and rice...kind of plain.

My nephew and his mom shared the lettuce wraps (this reminded me of PF Chang's but with Vietnamese herbs):
My BIL's Shaken Beef. Sorry this is not a good photo of the beef, but I must say this was my favorite dish of the day! The sauce was excellent and so was the tender and juicy meat...

Bert's noodle dish (forgot the name) with Shrimp...

My SIL got the Seafood hotpot with rice...

I didn't bother taking a photo of TC's food (pad thai! wut? in a Vietnamese place) and my niece's food (chicken satay).
We all enjoyed our dishes. My favorite besides the Shaken Beef was my Seafood in XO Sauce (very savory and chockfull of scallops, clams, and squid)...
Who else ate at Brodard Chateau?
Wandering Chopsticks went here last year for her little sister's graduation celebration. Check out her post for better photos...

Now that we've been here, we should check out the original Brodard's next time! Nem nuong anyone?

Wow, everything looks fantastic. Those pork rolls look huge!
Hahahaha, did I just say those pork rolls look huge? That sounded wrong (and I said in my head, "That's what she said.")
ha ha C - that was a nasty remark waiting to happen!
