Gunco Ramen

Sometime last week we went out for dinner. TC was craving sushi so we thought we'd go to Kanpai...

Turns out the Kanpai side was packed so we had to sit on the Gunco Ramen side...

Unfortunately, that was where these awful demon children were literally running around and screaming at the top of their lungs. Their moms were oblivious to their hellion spawn's behavior. I ended up asking the waitress if we could be seated elsewhere so she sat us in the "middle" seating area. It's right in between Kanpain and Gunco. Although we could still hear and see the kids, we weren't directly next to them. It was still grating to my ears and I don't feel bad in saying that I wished they would leave.

Ooh, we ordered one of these appetizers...

This is the "middle" seating area. Well, that's what I call it anyways. The area behind the blue curtains was where the horrible brats were.

My Chanpon - ramen noodles with fish cake, pork, corn, cabbage, and assorted seafood. Very filling! I ended up sharing this with Bert.

I loved the pork broth...

Our appetizer which came midway. Panfried shiso peppers with bonito flakes on top.  Loved the smokiness of the peppers.

TC's sushi rolls. One of them had the crunchy panko crumbs (forgot what kind of roll it way) and the other was California roll.

Bert's rolls...Forgot the names but one had tempura shrimp and the other had eel and crab.

Here's the other side...

The waitress gave us a complimentary bowl of edamame; I think she felt bad because we had to remind her about Bert's beer.

We would have enjoyed our dinner more without the screaming kids. We were so relieved when they left. I honestly don't know how the other people who were sitting on that side could stand it.

The next few posts will skip to the next weekend. I'm saving our Alhambra posts for later (Nucleus visit and more)...
