Mostra Coffee's "Super Saturday" @ The Cork & Craft + a peek at their upcoming store

When I saw this...

I knew we had to go...

It wasn't quite 9 am yet but there was a small line...

Soon enough we would be inside...

Today's special menu:

Mostra co-owner Sam Magtanong working the pourover station...

Donuts from Nomad were on hand for $2 each; there were two versions of the  strawberry/chocolate donuts - one glazed and one filled with coffee custard. We chose the filled.

The whole shebang.  Everything you saw on that menu is here.

The cold brews and the bottled one.

Of the cold brews, I liked the strawberry cold brew on Nitro the best (the darker one). The strawberry flavor was there but hidden behind the strong but smooth cold brew; it did not need any additional sweetening. The lighter colored cold brew was the Neapolitan but it did not taste like its namesake due to the over abundance of cinnamon in there. You guys all know I'm not a cinnamon fan so to me, it tasted more like Holsem's Banana Bread Cold Brew.

The Lab Dining were serving up burgers and chips (from bagged).

Bert and I shared this juicy burger and man, I wish we each had our own!  We were pacing ourselves actually so sharing half was actually a good thing, although my eyes kept telling me to order another, ha ha.

Filled with coffee custard goodness. Texture was kind of soft which I am not too fond of but the flavor combination of chocolate, strawberry and coffee was all kinds of win. Plus $2 instead of the normal $4 Nomad would charge at their shop.

We also had some alcomahol - trying the debut of their "MostraNaNa", which was inspired by their "ChocoNaNa" drink. This beer is an Imperial wheat ale with vanilla, Ceylon cinnamon, freeze dried bananas and Mostra Brazil Coffee served on nitro (6.8% ABV). While there was a bit of cinnamon in here, it was not as strongly flavored as in the Neapolitan cold brew.  This was quite drinkable and went well with the donut and the burger.

We ended up finishing our cold brews later (thanks to our cooler which kept things chilled quite nicely).

We made a quick stop to their upcoming new brick and mortar just a few minutes away. It's located near Home Depot in Rancho Bernardo and is nex to Grub Burger Bar and See's Candy.

Yes...soon please!

I wished they had a South Bay location!

Phone camera pressed up against the glass...

The space isn't overly huge but at least there will be seating, a retail area and their delicious drinks offered on a daily basis.  I won't mind making the trek up once this place opens.

Previous visit to Mostra:
January 2016 when the Educator GF's and I literally ordered their entire specialty drinks menu!

Previous visit to The Cork & Craft:
April 2016 when I had my pre-birthday dinner with Bert and TC and had dessert at tye now defunct T-Pop Desserts (which is now ICMonster - check out recent posts of the new iteration by Kirbie and Mary)

It turns out that Mostra will be continuing as a "pop up" at the Cork & Craft until their new brick and mortar is up and running. As you saw, the new coffee shop still isn't ready. All I can say is, I can't wait for the new place to open, which will be seven days a week instead of just Wednesdays and Saturdays. The folks at Mostra are great and I love supporting Filipino American businesses to boot.
