We got the last damn parking spot in this strip mall lot...
I used my birthday meal coupon here and ordered two dishes from past visits (with the Prof and my mom) that I wanted Bert to enjoy as well. He is pretty game for anything. We shared the Buddha delight drink, orange, passionfruit and pineapple juice with jasmine tea and basil seeds. It's served in a cool vessel but is just too much for just one person to finish, so we shared it.
The two dishes were the eggplant and tofu with brown rice and the jackfruit salad with fake skrimps.
We both enjoyed breaking off the black sesame seed rice cracker and scooping up the fresh salad.
Bert really liked this dish, especially the slightly sweet but spicy sauce.
We made sure to bring home our leftover so TC could enjoy them later.
I had a free birthday drink deal from S3 Coffee Bar (thanks again to ibirthday.com) and tried the Black Sesame drink (no coffee in here). This was a new menu they just started...
I liked that there was almond milk in here already and not regular. The dates gave this drink a bit of sweet and chewy flavor while the ground and whole black sesame seeds gave it a nice nuttiness. Not bad!

I may just have to try that Dark Beet latte in the near future! We wanted to make our way down so that we could catch TC at her trackmeet...
