Bert would get the first "shift" for our epic drive back on Labor Day Monday...
Our last breakfast before our departure...
We would make a few pitstops in between, such as Salinas (made famous by Steinbeck in "East of Eden", Paso Robles, Blackwell's Corner and some other random place before the final stretch...
It was one of the most fun trips we ever took. We got to kick back in a relatively quiet part of SF, visit my cousin and her daughter, enjoy their 'hood, attend a very fun and hip wedding, and check out various neighborhood eateries and coffee/dessert joints, all without the hustle and bustle of downtown.
If only we didn't have to work the next day, we'd still be there...
