Noodles 'n yogurt

Well, would you looka here now...no more Yokoz!

The former site of the once popular Chamorro joint which had since gone downhill (waaaay downhill) the past few years is now going to be a new sushi place called "iSushi"! Hmmmm, did they get that from "iCarly"?

This is the last bday food post for TC....we do love to stretch out our bday celebrations in the CC household!

Dinner and dessert was her choice so she chose Pho Convoy Noodle House (the one near us not on Convoy). Bert had the spicy beef  with broken rice, TC had her favorite short ribs with bun, while I had the grilled shrimp and egg rolls bun. My bun was lacking in greens - no mint and hardly any lettuce or cucumber (which were hidden beneath the vermicelli noodles).

I warned Bert that the beef would be in meat loaf form. I didn't like the texture because it was a bit dense. He didn't think it was that spicy either but still enjoyed his meal. That was a big portion of meat so he saved some for the next day.

We saw some of the tables, including ours, had Baskin Robbin spoons in their chili garlic sauce containers. Hmmmmm, let's hope they weren't used spoons. Really? They couldn't splurge on real spoons for this?

Dessert was at the Eastlake location of Nuyo frozen yogurt. It's bigger and has more flavor selection that the Nuyo on Telegraph Canyon Rd.

Prices went up slightly. It used to be .38 per ounce a few years ago.

Oooh, they have Chamoy as a sauce choice.

Our desserts:

TC had various fruit flavors (don't remember which) and topped it off with gel cubes, mochi balls, and some sort of pebbly type cereal. I'm surprised she didn't choose gummy worms or gummy bears this time. Bert and I had similar tastes - chocolate, vanilla, and peanut butter (I added taro to mine) topped with chopped almonds and mini chocolate chips. I don't really veer off the beaten path with frozen yogurt.

At least TC's cups are always colorful and happy looking while ours look like nutty poo. Ah, but a delicious nutty poo it is!

We were surprised by the number of families that were still out after 8:30 pm. I guess their kids don't have year round school! It was a deviation from the norm for us to be out on a school day/work day, but since it was TC's real birthday, we wanted to go out to dinner (and also because I didn't want to eat leftovers from the back to back birthday lunches!)...

The Baskin Robbin's spoon actually made me laugh. Seriously? Did they run out of spoons and have someone run over to BR for spoons? "Where can we get free spoons really quick? Hmmm." Hilarious.
