Return to Fabrison's

The Labor Day weekend weather was quite fab-u-lous!  Sunny, of course...This is San Dee-ago (which means "whale's vagina") after all...

It was time to revisit this cute creperie down in Little Italy...

The good thing about parking downtown on Sunday is that it's free! We got lucky and found a space on Ash right before the corner of India Street, where Fabrison's is located.

I remember Bert ordering one of the breakfast crepes before. No, we wanted to get something else.

A quick flip of the menu had their list of savory crepes. Turns out I ordered the same one I had the last time! Dammit! But hey, it was still good!

Bert's coffee and TC's "apple cider" which was a mini (and overpriced) Martinelli's bottle.

I wasn't sure why they took it upon themselves to "drape" the crepes over the edge of the plate. It looked rather odd to us. The savory crepes are now made with buckwheat flour which  liked.

This was Bert's crepe - you can't see the filling, but it's the Baja - filled with roast beef and tomatoes, cheese, garlic, and harissa sauce (not really a Mexican ingredient) and topped with avocado. The difference between this presentation and the one we had last year is that this was served with fresh fruit instead of a salad with balsamic dressing. I liked the fruit option much better.

The other crepe was called, "If My Sister Ate Meat" - filled with turkey, cheese, and mushrooms and topped with roasted red pepper sauce.  This was TC's choice. We shared the two crepes between the three of us. We weren't even charged the $2.00 fee for splitting dishes, so that was cool of the waitress.

The inner workings of the Baja crepe...of the two, I liked this one more while TC enjoyed her pick.

Looks so messy, but these crepes were really delicious. The two crepes were just right between all of us.

Here's our first visit earlier last year...

We made sure to make room for dessert. But first, TC wanted to check out Blick, the art store to get some watercolors for future art projects.

After that, our next stop was for some icy cold treats...
