After our short stop at Beacon Coffee Co. in Ventura,

As much as we enjoyed our trip to Ventura the previous year, we needed to move on....
but not before making a short stop along the highway near a place called Sea Cliff. The turnoff is right off the 101 and the 1.

We enjoyed the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach. It was still pretty early in the morning and no one else was around.

It felt so strange not to have TC with us. She was at an Arts camps for the district.
Before heading to downtown Carpinteria, we parked near Viola Fields, a park south of the town. There was a lookout point and it is fairly near the Carpinteria Bluffs Nature Preserve, which Bert and I would eventually check out during the course of our short trip.

Lovely views...

The pier that you see is not open to the public. More on this later...
We would be heading to Carpinteria to explore before having lunch and checking in to our hotel.
