was a bakery we had bypassed six years ago...
We would not pass it up this time around.
But as tempting as all of these sweets were (and of course their famous artisan bread)...

we kept it to a minimum, choosing two savory items and one sweet. It was just a something small to tide us over 'til lunch.
A slice of bacon quiche, a ham and cheese croissant plus an "Oregon" croissant, called such because it included marionberries (a cross between the Nehalem and Olallie blackberries; developed in Oregon), blueberries and hazelnut cream (the hazelnut is the state nut).

Look how beautiful this is...

I thought we would eat these later, but TC wanted to eat them, like now. Before we headed out to a local park known for its views, although it was pretty overcast that morning.

Delicious these were, both the quiche, which was a generous slice, and the flaky savory croissant.

So much for delayed gratification.
I could kick myself for not getting any bread but our plans were kind of open that day so I wanted us to keep our options open.

With the annihilation of these snacks, it was time to once again brave the cold (low 40's man) so we could enjoy seeing the city from another vantage point...
