away from the crazed hordes of yesteryear all clamoring to get that last fruit strudel or chocolate dobre torte...
Once again, I went to our local bakery, Hans and Harry in Bonita to get a selection of desserts not just for Valentine's but for the next few nights. You could say I had "big eyes" that afternoon. I also wanted to try other items we hadn't tried before. For all this, I spent $12.90 (items ranging from .80 to $3.75).

Strawberry Mousse - very light and fluffy this was with a cute heart on top.

The Banana Boat - a chocolate covered banana nestled in Bavarian cream and a crisp puff pastry shell. This was my favorite!

The Strawberry Parfait - Chocolate cake, strawberry mousse, cream, and a strawberry on top. This was TC's favorite (which she actually ended up eating the next day). We also liked the cool slanted cup it was in.

Another cake that we liked was the Hazelnut Slice. It was either that or Tiramisu but the Hazelnut won out. Bert really liked the light and fluffy laters.

The last thing was the Caramel Walnut Torte, which was next to the very tempting Chocolate Pecan pie slices in their display case. Keep in mind, we only had a few bites of each item just to sample. It's the next day as I write this and there's still leftovers.

Not pictured individually was the Chocolate Truffle (which was 80 cents). We actually had that tonight - a rich chocolate ganache ball covered with dark chocolate. I could have bought just three of those and called it a night!
My downfall is my sweet tooth. I usually have to be in the mood to try that many desserts. At least we have the other half to last the weekend.
I get cavities just listening to this song!

Yep. Nobody really eats all that sugar at one time. It all looks so good. Of course I forgot it was Valentine's Day...but I will remember to stop and H&H when passing by. The banana Boat looks like it would be my favorite.
